Born in New Zealand from Chinese immigrant parents, Andrew is a second generation immigrant.
He is currently studying to become a doctor at the University of Otago Wellington, and has previously completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences, and Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Honours).
Andrew sits on a number of executive boards to advocate for better cultural safety within the medical sphere at both the student and staff level.
Andrew is passionate about improving the cultural competence of the medical system and helping reduce inequities in healthcare outcomes for minorities in Aotearoa.
