Ethnic Advisory Group Member

I have a background in communications, particularly in health comms. I am bringing my two decades' worth of experience working on various roles and projects that provide positive change in communities. I have worked in broadcasting, hygiene and sanitation, environmental governance, education, public health, and technology. These jobs have brought me to many places in Asia and the Pacific. I have worked with consultants, local governments, national governments, non-government organisations, consulting firms, academics, and funding agencies. I have strong connections with academics and researchers from the University of Auckland.

I am a Digital Solutions Programme Manager at the National Institute for Health Innovation of The University of Auckland.  I manage several projects and service deliverables within my portfolio, including text messaging programs for pregnant women and mothers, mobile phone programs for people with problem gambling, app development for patients with chronic pancreatitis and many others.  Previously, I have also worked on education initiatives to improve student learning in the Solomon Islands, Tonga and Cook Islands.

My family and I moved to New Zealand 15 years ago. I have two children, one was born in the Philippines, but lived here in NZ since he was four, and then a daughter who was born here in NZ.
