Asian Family Services 2024 Annual Report

We want to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and dedication throughout what has been an extraordinary year. Your belief in our mission has been instrumental in driving meaningful change and achieving remarkable milestones.

This year, we have been privileged to collaborate with incredible partners, including the NZ Drug Foundation, Centre for Arts and Social Transformation at the University of Auckland, Allen + Clarke, and Trace Research. Their collaboration has been invaluable in advancing our research initiatives and expanding our impact.

We also want to thank all the organisations that have partnered and collaborated with us this year across all aspects of our work, from public health events to clinical interventions. Your support has been invaluable, and none of this would have been possible without you.

AFS had the privilege of hosting the inaugural Asian Mental Health Summit, marking a significant step in addressing the unique needs of our communities. A special thank you to Hon. Minister Matt Doocey for your inspiring opening and closing addresses, and for your unwavering dedication to addressing the often-overlooked needs of Asian communities within the system. We are also deeply grateful to Hon. Minister Melissa Lee for launching the very first Asian Suicide Prevention National Initiatives at the summit, a monumental achievement for our community. Our heartfelt thanks also go to MP Nancy Lu for your tireless support and exceptional role as MC, ensuring the event ran seamlessly. We are deeply grateful to those who stood with us at the Inaugural Asian Mental Health Summit, contributing their time, energy, and expertise to address critical issues that resonate across our communities. Your contributions have truly made this summit a landmark event.

A special thank you to the selfless volunteers who have generously given their time to support our public health events. Your dedication creates ripples of positive change that touch countless lives.

We also wish to express our sincere appreciation to our funders: the Ministry of Health, Health NZ, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Social Development, ACC, the Ministry for Ethnic Communities, and Foundation North. Your trust, vision, and generosity empower us to make a real difference and bring hope to those we serve.

We look forward to continuing this meaningful journey with you in 2025. Together, we can make an even greater difference.
