Gabrielle moved to Aotearoa New Zealand in 2016 as an international student and completed her training in health psychology at Victoria University of Wellington.
Having lived cross cultures herself, Gabrielle understands how identity, family, language, and cultural expectations can shape a person’s experience of mental health. She values the strengths that come from moving between worlds, while also recognizing how challenging that can sometimes be.
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Gabrielle brings personal insight and sensitivity to supporting rainbow clients, especially where cultural identity and sexuality or gender diversity meets.
Gabrielle has experience working with people of all ages, and she has a particular interest in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. With training in neurodiversity, she works in ways that honour each person’s way of thinking and being.
In her practice, Gabrielle draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) and Schema Therapy. She tailors her approach to the unique needs, strengths, and preferences of each client, and works together with them to develop practical strategies that foster resilience, self-awareness, and meaningful change.
