  • Born and raised in Beijing, China, Mia later migrated to NZ at age 6
  • She is currently in Year 13, Saint Kentigern College (East Auckland)
  • She was a recipient of Academic Colours for NCEA, the IB Diploma and NZQA Scholarships
  • Mia co-founded Asian Voices, holds a Council position at school and conducted research projects on the mental wellbeing of Asian youth
  • Her struggle through NZ's mental health system (including school counselling) has provided her with invaluable insights
  • She hopes to pursue sociology and PPE in university
