This file outlines new e-learning training modules designed to strengthen culturally responsive support for Asian communities in Aotearoa, covering both suicide prevention and responding to gambling harm.
It includes:
Suicide Prevention – Community Education course: for community leaders and people working closely with Asian communities, focusing on cultural perspectives, warning signs, and culturally relevant support strategies.
Suicide Prevention – Workforce Development course: for healthcare professionals, covering cultural and social influences (e.g., stigma, family expectations), recognising risk factors, and using culturally responsive communication and interventions.
Respond to Gambling Harm Package: an equity-focused, practical training (accredited by the College of Nursing) to support early identification, brief interventions, and “warm handovers” into specialist services.
The file also provides a sign-up link for the modules (and a QR code): elearnx.co.nz.
