Peer Support Service

Peer Support Workers are individuals who have their own lived experiences with overcoming gambling challenges and are prepared to share the insights and knowledge gained from their personal journeys. This firsthand experience, often about gambling behaviours, mental health challenges and other social issues, provides a different perspective that promotes compassion, connection and a deep understanding of the daily challenges experienced by individuals and families.

Through one-to-one, group sessions, ongoing follow-up support, and peer support work are designed to establish safe, non-judgmental environments where clients feel understood and empowered to address gambling-related challenges.

Our Peer Support Workers are equipped to:

  • Offer support to navigate challenges such as self-stigma, enhance self-efficacy, strengthen community connections, promote self-advocacy and foster holistic well-being.
  • Support clients to identify their strengths and empower them to achieve goals through collaborative learning.
  • It is a recovery-driven approach that builds on hope, empathy, and practical strategies to walk alongside clients and help them rebuild their lives.

Team Profile

Our team includes trained professionals who provide culturally appropriate peer support.
