Peer Support Workers are individuals who have their own lived experiences with overcoming gambling challenges and are prepared to share the insights and knowledge gained from their personal journeys. This firsthand experience, often about gambling behaviours, mental health challenges and other social issues, provides a different perspective that promotes compassion, connection and a deep understanding of the daily challenges experienced by individuals and families.
Through one-to-one, group sessions, ongoing follow-up support, and peer support work are designed to establish safe, non-judgmental environments where clients feel understood and empowered to address gambling-related challenges.
